FIFA 2026 Live Match Tracker is a Chrome extension that displays FIFA World Cup 2026 scores, upcoming fixtures, live match updates, and match event notifications.

This extension does not collect personal information such as name, email address, passwords, payment information, or browsing history for sale or marketing purposes.

The extension stores limited local data in Chrome storage to provide its functionality, including:

- Notification preferences selected by the user
- Recently seen event identifiers used to avoid duplicate notifications
- Cached live event identifiers needed to retrieve official match event history
- Recently fetched match and event data used to display the popup and notifications

## How We Use Information

We use locally stored extension data only to:

- Show match scores, fixtures, and live updates
- Send notifications for match events selected by the user
- Prevent duplicate notifications
- Improve extension responsiveness by caching recent match state

## Data Sources and Network Requests

The extension fetches publicly available match and event data from official FIFA-related endpoints and related event-feed endpoints required for the extension's core functionality. These requests are used only to retrieve football match data for display and notifications.

## Remote Code

This extension does not execute remote code. All executable code is packaged with the extension. Network access is used only to retrieve match and event data.

- `storage`: to save user settings and local extension state
- `tabs`: to open match pages requested by the user and temporarily resolve live event feed identifiers

- host permissions: to fetch match and event data from required FIFA-related endpoints

## User Control

Users can:

- Enable or disable notification categories in the extension popup
- Remove the extension at any time
- Clear extension data through Chrome extension settings

## Data Retention

Data stored by the extension remains in the user's browser until it is overwritten, cleared by the user, or removed when the extension is uninstalled.
